Deborah Chu

Deborah is a third-year at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Government and Plan II Honors. She is passionate about the intersection of cybersecurity, civics, and public policy—particularly how digital threats affect vulnerable communities. After realizing how many personal connections were suffering from scams, Deborah founded CyberServe USA in June 2025 to mobilize students across the country to fight back against scammers by providing free education and support to those most at risk.

Outside of leading CyberServe USA, Deborah is involved in the Strauss Center’s Cybersecurity Clinic, the UT School of Civic Leadership, multiple student publications, and research. In her free time, you can find her plotting a sidequest with friends, experimenting with new recipes, or relaxing at home with a notebook.
